2. EPR Compliance
i) What is EPR - and why does it matter for my business?
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a regulatory framework that makes businesses legally responsible for the end-of-life management of the products they place in the market. If you manufacture, import, or sell , EPR obligations likely apply to you.
In practice, this means registering on the CPCB portal, meeting annual recycling targets, procuring EPR credits from registered recyclers, and filing returns – all within regulatory deadlines.
Non-compliance carries financial penalties and can affect your ability to operate in regulated markets. MEW helps you stay ahead of it.
ii) Can MEW manage complete EPR compliance?
Yes- end to end. MEW handles the full compliance cycle:CPCB registration, annual target planning, recycler onboarding, EPR credit procurement, and return filings with the regulatory portal. We also ensure that your compliance isn’t just on paper, it’s audit-ready. Whether you’re registering for the first time or managing ongoing obligations, MEW operates as your dedicated compliance team.
iii) How does MEW stay current with CPCB regulations - and what happens when rules change?
CPCB guidelines and EPR portal requirements are updated regularly, and our team tracks every change as it happens – including circulars, revised targets, and portal system updates.
When regulations shift, we proactively review how the change affects your compliance obligations and update your plan accordingly. You’re not expected to monitor this yourself – that’s our job.
All credit transactions, recycler onboarding, and regulatory filings are maintained with full documentation, so if an audit happens, you’re covered.
iv) Who falls Under EPR obligations - and does MEW work with all of them?
Under India’s EPR regulations, the following entities have compliance obligations:
Producers – manufacturers who sell packaged or regulated products in India
Importers – businesses bringing packaged goods or regulated products into India
Brand owners – entities whose brand appears on a product, regardless of who manufactured it Recyclers – authorized entities that process regulated waste and generate EPR credits
MEW works across both sides of the EPR ecosystem – obligated entities and registered recyclers. Each category has different registration requirements, targets, and reporting obligations on the CPCB portal – and we tailor our approach accordingly, so you’re not navigating a process designed for a different type of business.
Producers need EPR credits to meet their annual targets. Recyclers generate those credits by processing waste. MEW facilitates this connection – onboarding verified recyclers and producers, managing credit generation and procurement, and ensuring the transaction trail is clean and the portal is compliant on both ends.
vi) How are credits verified?
EPR credits are generated on the CPCB portal when registered recyclers upload their processing certificates – proof that a defined quantity of waste has been processed. MEW manages both sides of this: ensuring recycler certificates are valid and quantities are accurate before credits are procured, then reconciling those credits against your annual targets and filing returns that confirm compliance.
Every credit MEW processes is backed by documentation that traces the waste from collection point to final processing – so if a credit is ever questioned, the paper trail is already in place.
3. Waste Management & Logistics
i) Which waste streams does MEW cover?
MEW manages EPR compliance and execution across all major regulated waste streams in India :
- E-Waste
- Battery Waste
- Plastic Waste
- Used Oil
- Tyre Waste
- End-of-Life Vehicles
- Construction & Demolition Waste
- Non-Ferrous Metals
Each waste stream operates under its own regulatory framework and CPCB guidelines. MEW handles registration, target planning, recycler onboarding, and filings specific to whichever categories apply to your business — you don’t need a separate consultant for each
ii) Do you provide reverse logistics support?
Yes. MEW designs and manages reverse logistics networks across India – covering waste collection, aggregation, and transportation to authorized recyclers.
Every stage of material movement is tracked and documented, creating a clear chain of custody from point of collection to final processing. All recyclers in our network are verified and authorized under applicable regulations, so there are no compliance gaps in the chain.
4. About MEW
i) Does MEW work beyond EPR - do you cover ESG, NHWTS, and Carbon accounting?
Yes. MEW began with EPR and battery recycling, and has since expanded into a broader sustainability advisory practice. Alongside EPR compliance, we now support businesses on ESG reporting, CSR strategy, Carbon accounting, NHWTS, OCEMS, CBAM. If your business faces sustainability obligations beyond EPR, MEW can advise across all of them from a single point of contact.
For more information on these services, visit our Services section.
ii) Which cities or regions does MEW operate in?
MEW operates on a pan-India basis. Our offices are in Kolkata, Gurugram, and Patna, with field operations and recycler networks spanning across the country.
iii) What makes MEW different from other EPR service providers?
MEW has been working in battery recycling for over 15 years — long before EPR compliance was mandated — which means our understanding of waste streams, recycler networks, and ground-level execution runs deeper than any firm that entered this space.
Unlike consultants who stop at advice, MEW builds and operates the systems that make compliance real: reverse logistics networks, verified recycler partnerships, credit generation and procurement, CPCB portal filings, managing both producers and recyclers so that the full EPR ecosystem is handled without gaps.
We also believe compliance shouldn’t be your burden to carry — our job is to absorb the complexity of evolving regulations, documentation, and filings so you don’t have to track any of it yourself. At MEW, your compliance is our responsibility, and we take that personally.

Posted on Google Tathagata DuttaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very disappointing experience with MEW Consultants. Extremely unprofessional approach and complete lack of transparency in the hiring process. They arranged an interview that felt misleading and poorly managed. There seems to be no proper salary structure, no clarity regarding job roles, and communication from their side was highly confusing. The company culture appears disorganized, with zero professionalism in handling candidates’ time, effort, and expectations. Candidates invest money, travel, and valuable time, but the process feels careless and unreliable. Would strongly advise job seekers to verify everything properly before attending any interview through them. A professional consultancy should respect candidates and maintain honesty and structure in recruitment, which was completely missing in my experience.Posted on Google NITISH YADAVTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
